At SiGNAL we believe that understanding the potential of the latest technology is now vitally important for small business owners. So we make it our business to deliver the best technical training that we possibly can. Our resident 3D Tech expert Ian Hiscocks has designed this introduction to 3D Tech specially for the small business owner, innovator and entrepreneur.


Ian is running workshops through the October half term for parents and children.


Tickets £60.00 including VAT – entitles one parent and one child to attend the workshop


Overview:


This is a 2 and a half hour introduction to our simplest 3D printer the WANHAO duplicator 


Ian will work with groups no bigger than 6 (3 parents and 3 children)


What you will learn in this introductory course:


A briefing on  the materials and tools used in 3D Printing 


An overview of the potential of 3D printing for business owners, innovators and artists 


An introduction to the software programme used to download print designs and upload to the printer 


An introduction to the website www.thingiverse.com


A practical demonstration – download a model, prepare the machine and print! 


At the end of the course you will receive the printed coursenotes to take away plus your 3D print out you have created during the workshop. You will also receive a USB stick which will allow you to come back and use the facility. You have the optoin to use the facility as a member or non-member. Details below.

One off joining fee £15.00 


One months membership of the 3D Tech Hub 


A personal USB to keep with the CURA software programme you will need to continue to use the machines and a copy of the course content plus other resources


A certificate to say you are cleared to come in and use the machines 


Clearance to progress to the next workshops covering intermediate printing,  laser cutting and 3D Scanning


Monthly membership fee thereafter £15.00 


Once you have completed the introduction to printing and your first month you can become a full member of our 3D Tech Hub and enjoy priority booking to use our machines whenever you wish.


Membership of the Tech Hub includes 8 hours of printing plus filament per month. Additional hours are charged out to members of £2.00


You will receive a locker key and regular updates on the machines, become a part of an exciting new tech community and enjoy informal meetups with like minded people!


For non-members


Print cost is £2.50 an hour plus a one off slicing charge of £2.50 per print
